Large windows are plentiful in this modern vacation home. It was our intention to create spaces that showcased the view and updated the interior aesthetic.
Once a dated master bathroom with a sunken tub, we converted it to an open, bright, modern, and spa-like bathroom with a full renovation. The vanity with a pair of custom, floating mirrors allows the clients to catch a glimpse of the lake beyond the mirrors. A stand-alone, soaking tub is nestled on the lake side of the bathroom surrounded by floor to ceiling windows. A unique design feature of a wall to wall storage niche accents the large walk-in shower.
A custom glazed cabinet finish brought the previously country-feeling kitchen in line with the more modern feel of the rest of the house. New pendant lights and a light, stone backsplash accent, but do not deter from the sweeping views of the lake outside the corner window.
Drakes Island Getaway
Freeport Seaside Living
This home's high ceilings, spacious floor plan, and amazing views of Casco Bay were enhanced with a cool color palette and subtle, nautical details. The design is practical and beautiful, designed to be a relaxing, no-fuss, coastal vacation home for family and friends.
Foreside Eclectic Master
A renovated trolley station is now a comfortable home for a young family. The owner's Master Suite was already a soft blue that we enhanced with playful details and fresh furnishings. Not shying from color and pattern, we created an accent wall with a bold, botanical wall covering, which is perfect for their lively way of life.
A once dark and gloomy walk-out basement was transformed into this calming bedroom retreat. The white on white color palette makes the space feel more spacious and airy. Brass details and custom built-ins under the staircase create a sophisticated, nautical touch similar to living on a yacht.
Wells Nautical Bunk Room
This nautical bunk room was designed for a pre-teen and her cousins to enjoy while on family vacations. This spacious room sleeps 7 and also boasts a TV watching area, game table, and built-in toy storage. The lighting and porthole in the door were reclaimed from old ships to make this space authentically nautical.
Winter Hill Victorian
The first floor of a traditional Victorian home in Somerville, Massachusetts was renovated to reflect the energetic, young, bright family that resides there. Architectural moldings were highlighted with a fresh color palette and comfortable, functional furnishings were added to provide this family space to live and grow.
Living spaces do not just have to be inside. We love creating indoor-outdoor spaces that allow our clients to enjoy their surroundings, while durable enough to withstand the ever changing New England weather.
Charles Eames said "Details are not the details. They make the design." E4 can assist with over all vision of your space, without over looking the small details that complete the design.
